Flat tidied out. Cupboards, wardrobe, shelves empty. Table and bed bare. Floor actually visible and rid of all the shit that I tend to accumulate far too quickly. It looks exactly how it did when I first arrived. No traces of me, of my life, of my experiences this first year. 2010-11, an unknown stranger was here. So much has happened in this flat – most of which is for me to know and you to find out. And eight, nine months later, it’s gone. Only traces of it is on Facebook and in the depths of my memory. To be forgotten.

Some glorious, joyful, heartwrenching, novel, intoxicated, stress-induced, head-imploding moments. The moments of our lives. The golden age of youth.

(9) NAP ’10-11. It’s been a good year.

FIRST-YEAR OF UNI: The Final Countdown

Was intending to do some power revision with the help of Tchaikovsky but his music is so enjoyable that I can only devote my full attention to either him or to revision and so far it’s been to him…. What, it’s not my fault the Nutcracker is brilliant!

Well. I could quite happily drop my current degree and do a degree in ‘Tchaikovsky Appreciation’.

Anyway, 4.30pm tomorrow and I am free. Except I haven’t been thinking of it that way cause I still have shit loads to organise within 6 days so it’s not really all fine and dandy for me yet.

FRIENDLY FIRES | ‘Pala’

A very very enjoyable album. I can leave it playing on my iPod and won’t feel the urge to change the track at any point. It sort of merges into one long sound and upon third, fourth listen, still I haven’t really found a stellar standout track, but that doesn’t stop the album from shining – a brilliant, ripe, colourful record. Well done Friendly Fires.

Perfect for: Inducing summer vibes even on the greyest and dullest of days.
